A Spaza Shop is an informal store in South Africa, usually run from someone's home and most commonly found in townships. In all my time filming around SA, the art on the sides of Spaza Shops is what inspired me to create this collection - a homage to our South African upbringing through the products you are likely to find in many of the households here. These pieces aim to create a sense of nostalgia in those who view them.
